Two teenagers who allegedly stole a man’s motorcycle at knifepoint over the weekend have been arrested.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that at about 11pm on Sunday, a man visited the Hamilton Police Station to report that his bike had been stolen.

The man, 18, told officers that three cycles had pulled up to him while he was travelling west near St Mark’s Church in Smith’s.

The spokesman said: “The man kept riding west along South Road, when upon approaching the traffic lights at the junction of South Road and Collector’s Hill, one of the cycles overtook him and blocked his path, causing him to stop.

“A pillion rider on one of the cycles then brandished a knife and demanded he hand over his cycle.”

Officers patrolled the area after receiving the report and found two males riding the stolen bike.

The male suspects, aged 16 and 17, led police on an extensive chase but were later caught and found to each have a knife. They were then arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station.
