Police have seized 104 fully grown cannabis plants at a site in Southside, St George’s.

The raid on Sunday involved officers from the Tactical Operations Division, and an investigation is being conducted for possible violations of the Misuse of Drugs Act, which prohibits any cultivation of the plant.

No arrests have been made so far in connection with the seizure of the controlled drug.

An investigation continues, and anyone with possible information is asked to call 295-0011 or 211, or speak with a familiar police officer.

Anonymous tips can also be given through the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline, 800-8477.

In June, police seized nearly $3 million in drugs through a joint operation with Customs.

The June 22 bust, dubbed Operation Porcini, netted a shipment of the drugs MDMA, shatter and cannabis with an estimated street value of $2.9 million.

It followed a joint operation on March 15, in which the Bermuda Police Service drugs unit, backed by the financial crime unit and tactical division, executed warrants at a business in Hamilton and homes in Devonshire and Pembroke.

A shipping container was found with several packages containing suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of $1.9 million, and four people were arrested.

Cannabis plants were also seized by police in an August 2022 raid on a Hamilton parish residence, in which a man was arrested.

It was followed by more plants being seized in an unrelated raid on a Devonshire home, in which a large number of the plants were found growing in the yard.

An illegal growery at the East End was also raided in August 2021.
