A renewed appeal was made by police last night for information about a shooting in Sandys this month.

Two people were hurt in the incident on August 6.

Detective Inspector Jason Smith, of the serious crime unit, said earlier that several people were in the area of the Caroline Bay dock and they might have seen what happened.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said last night: “The BPS are renewing their appeal for witnesses or anyone with information on that shooting incident at the Caroline Bay Marina earlier this month.

“As we indicated then, around 11.13pm on Sunday, August 6, police received several reports of gunshots in the Caroline Bay, George’s Bay Road area.

“Upon the arrival of officers and other first responders at the scene, it was ascertained that two people were injured in the confirmed firearms incident.

“One victim was shot in the chest, the other sustained a bullet wound to the hand.

“Both victims were attended to at the scene by EMTs before being transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“They have both since been discharged.”
