Crime Stoppers hotline faces call-centre challenges

The Crime Stoppers hotline has run into “intermittent issues” related to its Miami-based call centre, but the charity said there were other options available for those who want to offer information.

Crime Stoppers Bermuda said that if anyone found themselves unable to connect with the call centre at 800-8477, they could still use the Crime Stoppers website.

“We urge you to visit our website and use our anonymous online reporting form to provide the information you wish to pass on to our law enforcement partners anonymously,” it said.

“Remember that we provide cash rewards of up to $3,000 for information leading to a successful arrest or seizure of illegal drugs and rewards of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction or seizure of a firearm.”

The Crime Stoppers Bermuda website can be found at www.crimestoppers.bm.
