Witness appeal after shots fired in Pembroke
Residents were asked this morning to provide information about anyone involved in the access of illegal firearms after it was confirmed that shots were discharged in Pembroke over the weekend.
The Bermuda Police Service said in a statement that reports were received of gunshots heard in the Parson’s Road area at about 11pm on Sunday.
They added: “Officers immediately responded and were able to confirm a firearm was discharged based on forensic evidence recovered near the junction with Rambling Lane.
“There was nothing to indicate whether anyone may have been injured, and inquiries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital confirmed that no individuals attended for treatment for gunshot injuries.”
It is the eighth firearms incident in Bermuda this year.
The BPS statement said: “The apparent increase in firearms incidents in recent times remains a priority for the Bermuda Police Service.
