Gunshot victims recovering in hospital
Two of the four men shot in broad daylight in Pembroke last week are still in hospital recovering from their injuries, police have confirmed.
All four victims were taken to hospital after being targeted a gunman on Middle Town Lane last Thursday.
Although two were released shortly after, the other two required surgery, with one man described as being in a critical condition.
Today a police spokesman said: “Two males shot during a firearms incident which occurred on Middle Town Lane, Pembroke at around 2:05pm Thursday, May 2, 2024, remain warded at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and are recovering from their injuries.”
The shooting was the ninth firearms incident in the last three months, with a tenth incident the following day, when shots were fired on Ord Road in Paget.

March 19: Multiple shots are heard in the area of West Park Lane in Pembroke. A bullet is found inside a residence in the area of Ingham Vale
April 15: Shots are heard in the Devil’s Hole area of Smith’s at about 12.30am. No one appears to have been injured
April 26: Two armed assailants targeted a man sat in a parked car on Alexandra Road, Devonshire. The victim escaped without injury
April 28: Gunshots heard in the area of Parson’s Road, Pembroke at about 11pm
May 2: Four men are shot in the area of Middle Town Lane, Pembroke, at about 2.05pm
May 3: Gunshots are heard in the Ord Road area of Paget. There are no reports of any injuries
Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons later confirmed that officers were aware of “ongoing gang tensions” and said three earlier gun incidents were "most likely“ linked.
Today the police spokesman said: “The investigations into all confirmed recent firearms incidents, remain ongoing.
“We are again appealing for anyone with any information on any of these matters, to please get in contact with us at 295-0011, 211 or the community reporting portal at https://portal.police.bm.”
The spokesman also said that anyone with information could speak to a police officer they knew, or provide the information via the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
Crime Stoppers offers a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the recovery of a firearm or the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for a firearm offence or any other serious crime.
