“Reports are the female and a male pillion passenger were travelling west on South Road when they were shot at by unknown suspects, who fled the scene travelling east on a dark-coloured motorcycle.”

The spokesman added: “It is not known whether the pillion passenger, who left the scene before the arrival of police, was injured.”
