A pick-up truck driver has been arrested during an incident that garnered attention over social media, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to the Dutton Avenue area of Pembroke on Monday after receiving reports of a vehicle driving erratically shortly before 6pm.

Police found the vehicle near the junction of North Street and Angle Street and arrested the driver, a 42-year-old man, on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

A court appearance of the man is expected soon.
