A man was shot in Warwick last night and taken to hospital although the extent of his injuries is not yet known.

Police went to Quarry Hill Road shortly after 9pm after several 911 calls reported gunshots being heard in the area.

When officers arrived, they found the wounded man. He was transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment. There was no information on his condition.

Police cordoned off the scene while it was being forensically examined.
