Several stolen motorcycles and “other items of interest” were discovered during a wider investigation, police said this week.

A post on the Bermuda Police Service’s official Facebook page on Monday said that the vehicles were found on a Warwick property on South Road.

The post also emphasised that the nearby T’s Homestyle Food Truck was not of police interest.

The discovery was made after the Serious Crime Unit, assisted by the Gang Targeting Unit and Police Support Unit, executed a search warrant as part of Operation Athelstan.

The police initiative came after gunfire was exchanged between officers and two suspects in the Khyber Pass area of Warwick on August 23.

Operation Athelstan has led to two arrests, with the suspect in one, Ade Hart, appearing in Magistrates’ Court charged with using a firearm to resist or prevent lawful arrest, having the weapon and ammunition without a licence and taking a motorcycle without the owner’s permission.

The Serious Crime Unit will continue its investigation into these matters.
