Man injured in Somerset stabbing

A man was taken to hospital after a reported stabbing in Sandys last night, police said.

Officers were sent to the scene, near Mr Chicken in Somerset, shortly after 10pm.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that when officers arrived, they were told that the victim had been taken to hospital in a private vehicle.

He added: “Emergency Medical Services dispatch subsequently contacted police to report that the injured party was met by ambulance on the way and transferred into their care.

“The victim is said to have sustained neck and facial injuries which were not considered life threatening.

“At last check, he continued to receive treatment at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.”

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call police on 295-0011 or to provide the information to a police officer they know.
