The Bermuda Police Service said today that officers seized a large quantity of drugs with an estimated street value of $5 million last week.
The substance had been found washed ashore and was seized by police on January 17.
Acting Superintendent Jason Smith, the officer in charge of the crime division, said: “To date, no arrests have been made in connection with this seizure.
“A police investigation has commenced and the BPS would like to thank those members of the public for their assistance in alerting us to this suspected contraband.
“We would like to remind you of the importance in working with your police service to help us interdict illegal drugs coming to our island.”
