Police investigate report of gunshot in Pembroke
A gunshot was reportedly heard in Pembroke last night.
A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said officers received reports that one shot was heard in the area of Clarence Dale Road between 9pm and 9.30pm.
Police found no evidence to confirm that a firearm was discharged in the area and King Edward VII Memorial Hospital had no reports of anyone seeking treatment for gunshot wounds at that time.
Two people were seen speeding away from the area on a motorcycle shortly after the incident.
This was the second reported firearms incident this week; one was discharged near Devon Springs Road at about 11.30pm on Tuesday.
Detective Chief Inspector Derricka Burns said: “Thankfully, there were no injuries sustained, or worse, in either of these incidents, but that is of little comfort knowing there are individuals at large who are seemingly willing to threaten the lives of others by engaging in this kind of criminal behaviour.”
Both incidents are under investigation and anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Dre’ Wilkinson on 515-2495 or at dwilkinson@bps.bm.
People can also contact the main police number, 295-0011, the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline, 800-8477, speak with a police officer they know or provide details through portal.police.bm.
