Call for witnesses after man, 22, treated for stab wounds
Police have called for the public to come forward to assist with an investigation of a reported stabbing in Sandys on Sunday night.
A spokesman said officers responding to the incident, which occurred in the area of Boaz Island at about 8.50pm, followed a motorcycle with an injured passenger to Port Royal Fire Station in Southampton.
The 22-year-old wounded man was then taken via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to be treated for stab wounds that were said not to be life-threatening.
The spokesman said: “Neither the victim nor the individuals who took him to Port Royal Fire Station were forthcoming with any information pertaining to how he sustained his injuries.
“Police searched the Boaz Island area and recovered evidence believed to be connected to this incident, from the parking area of Woody’s Bar.”
The spokesman urged anyone with information to contact Detective Inspector Tiffany Caisey of the Criminal Investigations Unit on 247-1744 or 247-1072, or e-mail tcaisey@bps.bm.
Witnesses can also call the main police number, 295-0011, the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers number, 800-8477, or use the BPS community reporting portal at portal.police.bm.
