Mayho claims fourth in France

Bermuda teenager Dominic Mayho finished fourth in his latest race in France as he continues to further his cycling education.Mayho, competing for UCC Vivonne in France, had two races last week with his top finish four finish being his best ride to date.Competing on the 125 kilometre course that included steep climbs, the Bermudian was pleased with his efforts.“The race started really fast with a group of three breaking away from the peloton, but I managed to get in a six-man chase group,” said the Bermuda Junior Male Athlete of the Year.“The course had two pretty long climbs, about one kilometre each, and one of the flat sections went across an open farm, so there was a strong cross wind that really broke up the race.“We tried to bridge the gap to the leaders but the gap was too big to close down. Coming to the finish everyone was attacking each other.“The final climb to the finish was about three hundred metres. I was second wheel at the bottom of the hill.“The guy on the front was looking over his left shoulder waiting for someone to go so I went on his right and was able to hold them off to the finish.”
