Bermuda teams named for Caribbean Road Championships
The executive committee of the Bermuda Bicycle Association have selected an elite and Under-23 team for the Caribbean Road Championships to be held in the Dominican Republic on October 22.
The elite team is made up of Caitlin Conyers, Kaden Hopkins and Conor White, who will all compete in the Time Trial and Road Race, as well as Gabby Arnold who will take to the start line of the latter.
The Under-23 team will be led by Nicholas Narraway and also consists of Liam Flannery and Alexander Miller who will be making their debuts at this level. All three riders will be competing in the Road Race.
Bermuda is permitted to send up to five men and three women, combined between the elite and Under-23 teams, but only two riders per country are permitted to compete in the Time Trial per gender regardless of the category.
The championships are a qualifying event for both the Central American and Caribbean Games in June and the Pan Am Games, scheduled for next October.
For the CAC Games, there are two qualifying spots on offer in the Time Trial and six in the Road Race, while for the Pan Am Games, the is just one spot available, earned by winning the Caribbean Championships Road Race.
Shakee Glasford is also heading out to the championships in the capacity of team manager.
