Alan Potts downs series leader Kavin Smith in Mountain Bike series

Fattire Massive Mountain Bike Series leader Kavin Smith could finish only second in leg four of the event at Coney Island on Sunday.

Smith had an eight-point lead going into the race but had to give best to his nearest rival in the standings Alan Potts. Both riders completed 11 laps of the twisting, tight course in the hour allotted but Potts did it in a time two seconds quicker than Smith to close the gap going into leg five. James Holloway finished third.

The Open Female 60 minute category went the way of Pansy Olander, who was the only woman in the division to complete eight laps of the track. She beat Jennifer Wilson and Jennifer Lightbourne into second and third respectively.

The Male Open 30 minutes division was won by Andrew Davis with Rebecca May coming out on top among the females.

The boys 13-16 race was hotly contested but Gordon Smith again showed his class to claim victory. he finished more than two minutes clear of Wyatt Hall and Joshua Wilson. The girls division was won by talented young athlete Kelise Wade.

In the boys’ 9-12 race, Ray Richardson beat Philando Hill and Abram Da-Ponte to top spot.
