A large number of keen cyclists hit the streets and trails to help support Bermuda’s elite para-athletes by taking part in the Pedal for Paralympics event on Sunday.
The event, which was organised by the Bermuda Paralympic Association, featured different routes for mountain and road bikes, starting at Royal Naval Dockyard at and finishing at Ferry Reach Park in St George’s.
Funds raised from the event will go towards helping Bermuda’s para-athletes including wheelchair racer Jessica Lewis as well as Boccia players Yushae DeSilva-Andrade and Omar Hayward, compete at the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris in July, the Parapan Am Games in Santiago, Chile, in November and the Paralympics in Paris next summer.
