Jamie Cousins and Panzy Olander clinch Time Trial success
Jamie Cousins and Panzy Olander clinched victory in the Winners Edge Individual Time Trial on Sunday.
Competitors in the adult divisions took on a 10-mile course starting and finishing at Bermuda College, with a turn at Church Bay, while the youth categories competed over a shorter course with riders turning at Horseshoe Bay.
In the A Category, it was Cousins who prevailed, crossing the line in a winning time of 26min 38sec to finish comfortably ahead of Steven Millington in 26:52, with Jackson Langley completing the podium places in 28:01.
There was also delight for Olander, whose time of 29:43 in the Women’s Division proved enough for her to take victory ahead of Annabelle Miller (30:38) and Charlotte Millington (31:44).
In the Category B race, Geoff Smith came out on top in a winning time of 27:08, finishing more than a minute faster than Darren Glasford (28:23), with Grant Goudge (28:48) rounding out the top three places.
There was also a convincing win for Anthony Smith in Category C, who crossed the line in 29:33, around 40 seconds clear of Peter Dunne (30:13) who took second place ahead of Paulo Medeiros (30:57).
In the youth races, Dylan Eiselt prevailed in the 13-14 age division in a winning time of 20:23, slightly less than a minute faster than Jacob Wright in 21:21, with Gianluca Bortoli completing the podium places in 21:41.
There was also a dominant display from Jens Drea in the 11-12 race, claiming victory in a time of 21:11, with the only other competitor, Elena Bortoli, clocking 31:52.
