Kaden Hopkins finishes sixth in first race after injury

Kaden Hopkins raced for first time in 2025

Kaden Hopkins has started his European season by finishing sixth in his opening race in Spain.

Hopkins, who had an incident-packed winter in Bermuda after he was injured by a motorbike while training in St David’s, finished just seven seconds behind the winner, Julio Alberto Amores in the Interclubs Vinalopo-Almansa Amateur race in Spain

Working for his friend Diego Milan, who finished fifth in a sprint finish at the end of the 105.4km race, Hopkins showed his early-season strength by making a solo breakaway for about 40 minutes before coming back to form part of the winning group.

Although only a local race, the finish featured some big names with the top five including former World Tour rider Harry Tanfield and his younger brother, fellow professional Toby.

Hopkins is still on the lookout for a team and this ride will hopefully have caught the eye of some managers with space to fill on their roster.
