Conor White wins Winners Edge Criterium
Conor White made a successful return to Bermuda to claim victory in the Winners Edge Criterium.
Held at Cross Island in Dockyard on Sunday morning, the winner was determined by the number of laps completed in a set race time with White the only cyclist in action able to complete the maximum 35 laps in the allotted time.
White, who has been competing in Europe for the last two months with team Muck-Off-SRCT-Storck, completed the 35 laps in 33mins dead to win the A/B division. Ollie Hayward finished second after completing 33 laps in 33:02, with Dylan Eiselt also completing 33 laps but seven seconds slower than Hayward.
Jens Drea won the C/W category after completing the 21 laps in 22:16. That was enough for a 40-second victory over Jonah MacGuiness, with Charlotte Millington third after making it through 20 laps.
Lucas Eiselt, who won the youngest category of competition at the Sinclair Packwood Memorial Race, last week, followed up by winning the 12 and under race.
Eiselt completed the 15 laps in 21:32, beating Austen Carr (22:14) into second, with Hudson Pitcher completing 14 laps in third (22:20)
The event was co-ordinated by race director Mark Simons and official Dave Collins with Peter Dunne supplying the timing services.
