A serious crash blocked both lanes of a main road in Hamilton Parish, police said last night.
A spokesman said the crash happened on North Shore Road on a straight stretch near Shelly Bay.
The incident happened about 6.15pm – but no further details were available on the nature of the accident.
The police spokesman said that Harrington Sound Road was already blocked because of roadworks and other roadworks were under way on Middle Road in Smith’s outside the Whitney Institute.
He said traffic was being diverted on to South Road by Verdmont Road and St Mark’s Road in Smith’s.
The spokesman added: “There will be a one-way flow west over Flatts Hill until the bottleneck has been cleared.”
