Traffic was temporarily divered from South Road in Hamilton Parish after a man suffered a “potentially serious” leg injury in a collision this afternoon.

The collision happened near Hexham Drive at about 3.30pm.

A police spokesman said: “Details are limited at this time. However, apparently a motorcycle and van were involved.

“It is understood that the male rider sustained injuries including a potentially serious leg wound.

“Although, initial indications suggested that his injuries were not life threatening.”

The spokesman added that traffic was temporarily diverted.
