Motorcyclist injured in Hamilton Parish collision
Commuters heading home east faced tailbacks after a crash on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish late this afternoon.
The two-vehicle collision took place at about 3.35pm near the junction with Abbott’s Cliff Drive.
According to a police spokeswoman, eastbound traffic had come to a halt to allow a car to exit Francis Patton School. A motorcycle reportedly overtook the line of halted traffic and collided with the car as it exited the school.
The motorcyclist was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of what was described as a very serious leg injury. No other injuries were reported.
Traffic diversions were put in place on North Shore Road at the junctions of Radnor Road and Trinity Church Road.
