Motorcyclist in ICU after crash in St George’s

A motorist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in St George’s last night.
According to police, the incident took place at about 7.45pm on Southside Road near the junction with Waller’s Point Road when the motorcyclist struck a metal railing.
The rider, understood to be a 53-year-old Southampton man, was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
He was admitted into the intensive care unit with injuries considered to be life-threatening.
Police processed the site, and an investigation regarding the circumstances of the crash is under way.
