Hit-and-run leaves woman rider seriously injured
A driver has been arrested after leaving the scene of a serious crash on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish.
The collision between a white Jeep driving west and the rider of a motorcycle occurred just after 5.30pm Tuesday near the junction with Coney Island Road.
Police said the Jeep reportedly veered into the path of a motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.
The female rider was thrown from the vehicle and sustained a serious leg injury.
At last check, she continued to receive treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
The female driver of the Jeep, who left the scene before the arrival of police or paramedics, was arrested at a nearby residence on suspicion of driving while impaired, and causing grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving.
