Two riders hurt in a collision yesterday in Pembroke suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, police confirmed today.

The incident happened on Crow Lane at about 1.15pm.

The Bermuda Police Service said it appeared that a motorcyclist was leaving Hamilton and a 50cc-scooter rider was travelling in the opposite direction when they collided, as the scooter rider tried to turn up Spurling Hill.

It added: “BPS, Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service, as well as ambulance personnel, responded.

“It is understood that the 17-year-old local male 50cc-scooter rider was treated at the scene for non-life threatening leg injuries, while the motorcyclist, said to be a 43-year-old Pembroke man, apparently sustained injuries to his face, hands and legs.

“The motorcyclist was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later discharged.”

Inquiries into the incident continued and any witnesses that have not already made themselves known are asked to contact Acting Sergeant Jordan Basden on 211 or by e-mail at jordan.basden@bps.bm.
