Officer suffers minor injuries in morning collision
Police were diverting traffic from Middle Road in Devonshire after a collision involving a police motorcycle and a car near Kilderry Estate.
A police spokesman said officers received reports of a collision at around 9.30am today.
“Information reported suggest that a police motorcycle was travelling in the eastbound lane, clearing the road for a pedal cycle race when a car exiting Kilderry Estate attempted to make a right turn on to Middle Road, resulting in a collision,” the spokesman said.
“The female driver of the car was not reported to be injured. However, the policeman sustained minor injuries.”
The spokesman added that traffic was being temporarily diverted at Hermitage Road and Store Hill Road this morning while officers processed the scene. The area has since been reopened to traffic.
Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is asked to contact Sergeant Helen McHugh at 717-2434 or hmchugh@bps.bm.
