Man injured in single-vehicle crash in Southampton

A man was taken to hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Southampton on Friday.

Police said the incident took place on Middle Road near the junction with Lighthouse Road at about 9pm.

A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Police Service said the man “received potentially serious injuries after crashing his car through an eastbound wall, resulting in the vehicle going over the embankment”.

Police and other emergency services were sent to the scene and the man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The BPS said westbound traffic was being diverted onto Lighthouse Road, while eastbound traffic was being diverted onto Church Road.

Witnesses to the collision were asked to call 211.
