Police: vehicles abandoned in Smith’s and Sandys

Collision

Police appealed for information today after two vehicles were found abandoned in different parts of the island.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that a report was received of a single-vehicle crash on Middle Road near its junction with Verdmont Road in Smith’s at about 1.25am.

He added: “Upon police arrival the vehicle was found abandoned, overturned and resting on its roof.

“There was no indication of anyone having been injured.”

At about 1.30pm, police received another report of a single-vehicle crash on Somerset Road near Heydon Gardens in Sandys.

The spokesman said: “Officers arrived to find the vehicle extensively damaged and abandoned in the middle of the roadway.

“It appeared to have struck a nearby wall.

“The areas surrounding both collision scenes were extensively searched for any injured persons but no one was found.

“Checks were also made at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but there were no reports of anyone having attended seeking treatment for injuries which may have been sustained in a vehicle collision.”

He added that both incidents were under investigation and anyone with information was asked to call police on 295-0011 or 211.
