Two cars in serious collision near transport department

Two motor cars have been in a serious collision on the outskirts of Hamilton, police said this afternoon.
The incident took place in front of the Transport Control Department on North Street in Pembroke.
A police spokesman, who confirmed the collision at about 4.38pm, said that traffic was diverted through Till Hill and Dutton Avenue while the road was closed.
North Street was reopened after about an hour.
