Bermuda High School celebrates impressive academic results
International Baccalaureate results have been announced for the Bermuda High School (BHS).Head of School Linda Parker said: “We are delighted to report that our IB Diploma results were superlative this year, our highest score being 44 points out of the possible 45 points.”Top student Katie Cusumano’s score puts her in the top 0.4% of students worldwide.Chloe Brookes and Mariangela Bucci each earned second-highest scores of 39 points. Madeleine Fox and Caitlin O’Doherty both achieved 38 points.All IB2 students achieved certificates at both higher and standard levels.The full IB diploma was earned by 76 percent of the 34 students entered at the diploma level.Ms Parker said: “Our top scoring students applied mainly to universities in North America and received offers from several prestigious universities: McGill University, Brown University, Middlebury College, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and UC Berkeley.“With 44 percent of our Diploma candidates achieving 30 points or higher, these offers, along with those of students going to UK and Canadian universities, were confirmed. We wish the students every success as they commence their tertiary education in September.”Last year, BHS also saw 76 percent of its diploma level students get the full diploma, for a total of 45 students.The top score for 2010 was 40 out of 45 points.
