Students have been presented with Public Service Bursary Awards by Kim Wilson, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. The Public Service Bursary Award Scheme, which is awarded by the Public Service Commission, is designed to assist Bermudian students with educational expenses.Up to 15 bursaries are awarded annually to Bermudians pursuing post-secondary academic and technical qualifications in a discipline that has been identified as one meeting the future needs of the Government.The bursaries are valued at $10,000 per annum for a period not exceeding five years.The new recipients are:l Isha Douglas, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Law degree at the University of Buckingham and is sponsored by Land, Surveys and Registration.l Justin Simmons, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering at Aston University and is sponsored by the Department of Works and Engineering.l Kascia White, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology at St Mary’s University and is sponsored by the Department of Conservation Services.
