Educator’s licences extended for one month

Educator’s licences set to expire at the end of August will now be valid for a further month, according to the Ministry of Education.A teacher, who asked not to be named, told The Royal Gazette it appeared nothing had been done since members of the Bermuda Educators Council, responsible for licencing teachers, resigned en bloc.Existing educators licences are set to expire on August 31, after which they would not be allowed to teach.A Ministry spokeswoman said yesterday: “The Ministry of Education advised that Educators will not be required to re-register at this time and their licenses will be considered valid for September.”The spokeswoman said further details about the re-registration will be released in time.
