UK university honours former Premier

Former Premier David Saul has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Loughborough University.The institution, known as the MIT of the UK, recognised him for his achievements in “international business, education and politics”.Dr Saul graduated from Loughborough 50 years ago.In the years since he has assisted in the development of the Bermuda College as Permanent Secretary for Education from 1971 to 1975.He was also awarded for acting as a steward for international business as financial secretary, Minister of Finance and later as Premier.Dr Saul is a founding trustee of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, and a director of Odyssey Marine Exploration, known for its deep ocean recovery work.Useful website: www.lboro.ac.uk.
