Bermuda’s students are being called to show their writing skills in the 15th annual Pettit Thanksgiving Essay Competition.The challenge, for which all secondary school students are eligible, is to answer the topic ‘Why I am Thankful’ in 500 words or less.Winners take a $1,000 grant, and finalists receive $500 prize grants. Each winner’s school also receives a matching grant.School head offices can provide details, and the deadline for entries is November 1, at Pembroke’s Rosedon Hotel.An awards reception will be hosted by Premier Paula Cox, on November 21 at Camden.
