Happy Valley Centre to reopen

Happy Valley Child Care Centre

The Happy Valley Child Care Centre will reopen this morning after plumbing problems forced the school to remain closed yesterday.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Child and Family Services said: “The plumbing problems have been resolved. The Department of Child and Family Services apologises for any inconvenience to parents.”

The closure came just days after Prospect Primary was forced to shut early due to plumbing and water troubles, which were remedied over the weekend.

In a statement last night the Ministry if Public Works apologised for any inconvience caused. It said the prblem at Happy Valley was a pump had failed and needed to be repaired.

“The pump was sent to a mechanic first thing this morning to be restored. The Ministry advised the school last night regarding the work involved and, having the same protocol as all schools across the island regarding running water, the school made the decision not to open this morning. The plumbing issues have now all been addressed and the school will reopen as normal.”

The Ministry of Public Works apologised to the public for any inconvenience caused.
