Canadian universities to host fair

Eight Atlantic Canadian universities are to visit Bermuda next week to meet potential students and share information about their courses.

Katherine Cross, visit coordinator and assistant registrar at Dalhousie University, said: “We’re excited to return to Bermuda to connect with students about their postsecondary options in our region.

“From actuarial science and business to social sciences, engineering, ocean and atmospheric science programmes, the eight visiting universities are well positioned to help students thrive in their postsecondary studies, and achieve their academic and career goals.”

The Atlantic Canadian Education Fair will be held the Hamilton Princess from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Monday, October 2.

Caroline Berlo, an accounting graduate of St Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, now works as an audit senior with professional services firm EY in Bermuda.

She said: “St Francis Xavier truly cultivated the path for success in my professional career and allowed me to set high personal goals for myself — goals I have lived up to.”

Former Berkeley Institute pupil Duane Jones, a graduate of NSCAD University, also in Nova Scotia, started his own clothing design company, Art Pays Me after his studies.

He said: “We design clothing for the creative and woke. We represent artists, designers, writers, and everyone in between who are told they can’t make a living off of their passion.”
