Skyport donates books to East End Primary
East End Primary School pupils now have access to more books thanks to Bermuda Skyport.
The company, which is investing in the island’s young people and their education through a new community plan, donated $12,250 to the school.
Skyport president Aaron Adderley said: “Reading is not only fundamental, but key to opening the mind to new possibilities.
“We want the students at East End Primary to take these books, read them cover to cover and enjoy the new worlds they discover along the way.”
He added: “We plan to invest in our young people and in other schools in the months and years ahead.
“Starting here in the east end, with our area neighbours is an ideal way to roll out our community investment initiatives.”
Hundreds of fiction and non-fiction books were purchased for classroom libraries for years P3 through P6.
The school was chosen as Skyport’s inaugural investment after principal Julie Foggo highlighted the need for more reading material.
Ms Foggo, who thanked Skyport for the donation, said pupils were anxious to start reading the new books.
She added: “The selections in the classroom libraries were limited and worn down in many cases.
“The addition of these books to the classroom libraries ensures students from P3 to P6 will have a large and varied selection to choose from.”
