CedarBridge to host health fair
CedarBridge Academy will host a health and wellness fair tomorrow.
It was organised by school nurse Genny Williams-Hart and the school’s safety committee.
Ms Williams-Hart said: “The main objective is to teach everyone about a healthy lifestyle.”
Agencies will be at the school from 1.30pm to 5pm to offer advice to parents, staff and students.
The Department of Health will have a number of staff at the event.
The child health team will speak to issues such as immunisation and sexually transmitted infections.
Sarah McKittrick from the Diabetes Association, The Core — Jump Rope, Argus Insurance, and the Police Action Group are also expected to participate.
Blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks, weights and body fat will be checked.
Ms Williams-Hart said: “We all need to eat better, exercise more and we need to focus on assisting students with grief counselling, peer pressure and the impact it has on the young.”
