UK Scholars and Postgraduates, 2018-19 cohort (Photograph supplied)

U.S. Consulate General Hamilton announces the opportunity for Bermudians to apply for postgraduate study or research through the US-UK. Fulbright Commission. Bermudians are eligible to apply for funding to study in the United States if they hold a U.K. passport, and are not U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. The application deadline for the US-UK Fulbright Awards 2019-2020 is November 6.

Each year, the US-UK Fulbright Commission offers a number of grants to support postgraduate studies for those enrolling in a Master’s or PhD program and applications to research or lecture in the United States. Awards vary and can contribute towards partial or full tuition fees. Additional support in obtaining a student visa, sickness and accident coverage, and resources to help facilitate your stay in the United States will also be available.

Former Ombudsman, Arlene Brock, was Bermuda’s first Fulbrighter and was chosen to receive a scholarship to study at the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston for a semester in 2014. The Consulate encourages all eligible residents to explore opportunities that will provide access to a global alumni network of collaborative engagement and cultural diplomacy with over 300,000 academically and professionally accomplished members. The US-UK Commission represents the only bi-national transatlantic academic awards program between the US and the UK and is the only scholarship program that supports academic study, research, and teaching in any subject at an accredited US higher education institution.
