Saltus renovations to be unveiled

Renovations to a Pembroke private school will be unveiled at event today.

Alumni from Saltus will be among the first people to to the upgrades to Alumni Hall at the Christmas in November Holiday Cocktail Reception.

A school spokeswoman said that a photograph project in the works for two years would also be on display.

She added: “The school has hung photographs in Alumni Hall and adjacent buildings depicting different episodes in its long history, including a fire in 1977 which destroyed the gymnasium that previously occupied the Alumni Hall space.”

Jon Beard, the deputy head at Saltus, said that the decision to include the photographs was to “show the strength of the Saltus history as the school surges forward in the implementation of its strategic plan”.

The spokeswoman said that the recognition wall for the alumni “Buy a Brick” campaign had been completed.

She added the scheme was designed to help fund the “revitalisation of this central campus meeting, performing, dining, multi-purpose space”.

Denise McAdoo, the director of advancement at Saltus, said: “We are pleased to recognise the generosity of our alumni, alumni Parents, grandparents, trustees, employees, and friends of Saltus, who helped make the refurbished Alumni Hall a reality.”

Today’s event runs from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
