Students from the Berkeley Institute and CedarBridge Academy have been selected to receive awards for study at Bermuda College.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Sigma Xi Omega Chapter chose Roneeyah Jones, a graduating Berkeley student, for the 2020 Geraldine Lambert Post Secondary Award, and Nkosi Edwards, a graduating CedarBridge student, for the 2020 Dr Norma Jean Hendrickson education award.

Necheeka Trott, scholarship committee chairwoman, said: “We are extremely proud to play a role in the lives of these two young people as they continue the next chapter of their educational journey at Bermuda College.

“We are delighted to know the education awards will assist them in reaching their career goals. We wish them much success in their studies at Bermuda College.”

The ladies of Sigma Xi Omega Chapter engage in various community outreach projects and fundraising events for their Chapter’s annual education awards for a graduating public school senior.

The awards are named after two Sigma Xi Omega Chapter charter members.

Ms Lambert, a lifelong educator, believes that being a well-rounded student is a crucial element to success and is a firm believer in community service. She is also a senior soldier at the Salvation Army.

Dr Hendrickson served in roles for the Ministry of Education including teacher, principal and assistant permanent secretary.
