College advice on Canada travel
Earlier this week the Ministry of Labour advised the public that due to a ban on business travel for Canadian public servants, the Canadian Consulate is unable to facilitate the Biometric Identification Process for Canadian Visa Applicants in Bermuda and that students would need to travel overseas to obtain a test.
Bermuda College wishes to advise the affected freshmen and sophomore students that it is not too late to register for classes at Bermuda College for Fall 2020. Bermuda College has long-standing transfer agreements with many Canadian institutions whereby students can transfer with advanced standing. These institutions include most universities through Nova Scotia including: Acadia, Dalhousie, Mount Allison, Mount St. Vincent, Nova Scotia School of Art & Design, St. Mary’s, St. Francis Xavier; along with the University of New Brunswick and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Bermuda College students have also transferred to several other institutions throughout Canada, the US, and the UK with advanced standing.
For a full list of institutions that Bermuda College has formal agreements with visit Bermuda College’s website at www.college.bm under Transfer Pathways.
Students and parents who are hesitant about travelling overseas can also consider the College’s Visiting Student initiative. Information about this initiative can also be found on the College’s website or persons can email tdill@college.bm or info@college.bm.
The early registration deadline is August 28.
