Students encouraged to apply for college scholarships
Students planning to enter higher education are being urged to apply for a slew of Government scholarships.
Diallo Rabain, the education minister, said yesterday that a marketing campaign promoting the awards will soon be launched.
A total of nine scholarships are on offer, as well as the Bermuda College Promise Programme, created in 2018 for public school students.
Seventy students have since benefited from that award, which provides free tuition to attend Bermuda College.
Other scholarships on offer include the teacher education award, the applied science scholarship, the exceptional student award, and the non-traditional student award.
Mr Rabain said: “Our students and their ability to pursue post-secondary education is an integral part of the continued development and success of Bermuda. We recognise the importance of providing our people with opportunity, and will make no apologies for doing so.
“I am encouraging students to visit bermudascholarships.com to review the criteria for all awards and scholarships.
“Also, I am urging more students to take advantage of the College Promise Programme. It’s an excellent opportunity to begin your college career and have fees covered.”
