A replica of the Bermuda Sloop Foundation’s Spirit of Bermuda has dropped anchor at the offices of one of the charity’s top supporters.

The Argus Group, which has also donated office space to the youth development group, was presented with a cedar model of the ship for its headquarters in Wesley Street in Hamilton.

The replica was the work of master model-maker Milton Hill, who used Bermuda cedar for the hull and white cedar to mimic the sloop’s sails.

Mr Hill has donated several models of the Spirit of Bermuda to the foundation.

Robin Hamill, the chief executive of the foundation, presented the gift to Alison Hill, the chief executive of the Argus Group.

Mr Hamill said the model ship was a “token of appreciation” for the insurer’s financial support and gift of office space.

Ms Hill added the Sloop Foundation was among several charities for the young supported by the firm.

She said: “In challenging times, it’s such a precious, important thing to get our children out on the water.

“We like to help in anything to do with youth and wellness.”
