Pupils get a peek into the future
Middle school pupils have been given a crash course on what to expect in the next step of their education.
Dave Horan, the Head of Warwick Academy, spoke with pupils with the Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning over Zoom last Wednesday about what the school’s GCSE, IB and B-Tech programmes had to offer and how they could best prepare for them.
The meeting was part of an initiative to prepare the pupils for a high school education after they graduate this year.
The BCCL pupils questioned Mr Horan about the classes that Warwick Academy offered, as well as their art programme and emotional support resources.
A spokeswoman for the BCCL said that one pupil even asked if the school offered skateboarding in their physical education classes.
She added: “Mr Horan answered this question with a smile, understanding that this activity is popular with our youth, that just maybe this would be considered in the future.
"We appreciate our partnerships with local schools and thank Mr Horan for taking the time to support our school and our mission."
Sue Moench, the Head of Mount Saint Agnes Academy, and Anna Machado, deputy and future Head of MSA, will meet with BCCL pupils in the coming weeks to speak with them about student life at MSA.
