Parish council education awards up for grabs

Pembroke students were yesterday warned “not to wait until the last minute” to apply for the Parish Council’s annual scholarship and grants for study at Bermuda College.

The PPC is now accepting applications, which are limited to high school leavers and Pembroke residents between 17 and 24 who plan to enrol or are already at the college.

Patricka Ferguson, the parish council chairwoman, said it was the third year the PPC had offered full scholarships and grants.

She added: “The Pembroke Parish Council sees Bermuda College as a wonderful starting place and we’re urging Pembroke residents to apply.”

One scholarship award totals $6,000 and there are four additional grants of $1,500 each.
