Children’s hour to be held at BUEI
Young ocean lovers can take part in a “fun and engaging” programmes at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute at the weekend.
The children’ Hour series, aimed at children aged from 5 to 12, will be held on Saturdays and feature a short film and a book reading.
Karla Lacey, the chief executive of BUEI, said: “The screenings and readings are a great opportunity for children to learn more about our oceans in a leisurely way that respects everyone’s time.”
The first sessions, due to take place on Saturday with a screening of The Whale Who Saved Me, a true story about the “strange and wonderful things” that can happen when people encounter whales.
The book, Down Down Down: A Journey to the Bottom of the Sea, by Steve Jenkins, will also be read.
The two classes scheduled will start at 11am and 2pm.
Free parking is available at the BUEI on East Broadway, near Hamilton.
The classes are free for BUEI members and $2.50 per child for non-members.
There is no charge for caregivers who must remain on site throughout the classes.
The next sessions will be held on July 24 and August 28.
