BHS class told to isolate after Covid-19 scare
A class at a private school has been ordered to isolate after a potential Covid-19 exposure.
Linda Parker, the head teacher at Bermuda High School, said: “The person confirmed with Covid-19 has been isolated and is in quarantine.
‘We have followed all of the correct protocols with respect to isolation, reporting, cleaning … the Department of Health will be completing a risk assessment over the weekend.“
She added a Year 8 form class was affected.
Ms Parker added: “In the interim, out of an abundance of caution, we have asked the students and staff in that form to effectively isolate themselves until they receive further guidance from the Department of Health.”
The notice, dated yesterday, came after Covid-19 exposure among staff at Saltus and positive coronavirus tests for two pupils at Warwick Academy.
There have also been 130 staff absences in the public school system - blamed in part on Covid-19 quarantines.
